Mortimer Forest Trail 

If you’re looking for walks in and around Ludlow, then The Boot Inn is situated on the Mortimer Trail. A vast forest that offers  varied levels of walks and  is very well suited for all levels of fitness. Each trail offers great views on a clear day of the surrounding area.  There’s even car parks at the beginning of the forest trail, and we’ve a bus stop conveniently located out side of our pub.

Ludlow Castle 

If you’re looking for some local history, then Ludlow Castle is perfect.  The castle dates back to 1086 built by a Walter de Lacy. If you’re partial to  some gruesome history find out more about ‘The Murderous Mortimers’ and ‘The Young Princes’ mysterious fate.  The castle that was restored in 2007, now offers a range of events and tours.

Ludlow Golf Club  / Racecourse 

Golf among the rolling hills of south Shropshire is an experience that you have to try.  It’s been around for over 100 years! It’s ideally placed around the racecourse too, so you don’t have far to go should you want some lively action!
